When asked to comment on a victim's statement, I carefully thought of what to say. Being a survivor myself, I know what I would want someone to say to me but every survivor's sense of support is different. we process differently. we heal differently. I didn't have to think too hard, the point is to show up in solidarity.

Scott Stringer is accused of groping a former intern. He denies the allegations. The victim's lawyer, Patricia Pastor, made her statement early Tuesday morning, " I firmly believe that all survivors of harassment have the right to come forward. I will reserve further comment until this person has had the opportunity to share their story."

My statement is as follows: It takes a lot of courage to use your voice against evil. I applaud the strength the victim has in fighting to inspire change in an outdated system that relies on a person's silence. There's power in speaking out and holding men like Scott Stringer accountable.

Hold space.
